Michelle tragically lost her life on April 27, 2010. The Humpty Dumpty Foundation through its close relationship with Royal North Shore Hospital is delighted to be able to honour Michelle and keep her memory alive within the NSW Health System.
The Michelle Beets Memorial Award showcases the outstanding achievement of individuals responsible for the advancement of children’s health within NSW. It recognises the actions and achievements of people who go above and beyond what could be reasonably expected, in improving the health outcomes for children, and in doing so, encourages the attainment of optimal health provision for children.
Recipients of the Michelle Beets Memorial Award will be individuals who work within all sectors of children’s health care, within NSW, and will be nominated by their peers. A nomination in itself is a means of recognising outstanding achievement and contribution by the individual.
Former Minister for Health, The Hon Jillian Skinner, instigated a program which provides funding for this award recognising the contribution of hospital staff to the improved health of children in NSW and honours the dedicated work of Michelle Beets, this award is now championed by current NSW Minister for Health, The Hon. Brad Hazzard.
There will be four finalists of the Michelle Beets Memorial Award. One winner and one runner up will be awarded from each, Metropolitan and Rural NSW. Each winner will receive $20,000 each and the two runners-up will each receive $10,000 which must be allocated toward a piece of medical equipment to further their delivery of quality health care for children in their field.
All winners and runners-up will be required to complete a Humpty Dumpty Foundation Funding Application Form – below – and the requested equipment will need to be consistent with the mission of Humpty Dumpty Foundation. The equipment will be ordered and paid for directly by the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
The Award winners will be announced at the Humpty Dumpty Foundation Ball.
