The Michelle Beets Memorial Award honours the memory of devoted and well respected nurse of forty years, Michelle Beets, and recognises the outstanding achievement of individuals responsible for the advancement of children’s health in New South Wales. This year’s awards were presented by the NSW Secretary of Health, Elizabeth Koff at The Great Humpty Ball on Saturday 4th November.

Dr Susan Woolfenden of Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick (Metropolitan NSW Winner), Dr Keith Howard of The Maitland Hospital (Regional NSW Winner), Mr Brad Ceely, Acting Clinical Program Director for the Medical Program, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (Metropolitan NSW Runner-up), and Ms Kulvir Kalsi, Nurse Practitioner at Bathurst Base Hospital’s Emergency Department (Regional NSW Runner-up)
Each winner will receive a piece of medical equipment of their choice and for their hospital to the value of $20,000, and each runner-up $10,000, to further their outstanding work within the NSW Health system.
Humpty would like to also take this opportunity to acknowledge and congratulate each individual nominated by their peers for this prestigious award. Well done!
